LVC 18U Men Win Gold

The Lethbridge volleyball club U18 Boys Team LVC IMPACT won gold medals at the Edmonton tourney on the weekend.

In the quarter finals LVC Impact defeated the "Grande Prairie Wolves" 2 games to 1. In the semi-finals Impact won 2 games to 1 over "Ravens Volleyball Club" from Spruce Grove.

They won the gold medal match 2 games to 1; 25-21, 23-25, 15-13 over "Elite West Bam" from Calgary. This was a repeat of the previous premier tournament in Red Deer.

"The team really came together this weekend, as they had to fill in for their starting libero as he was unable to attend the tournament." Dustin McCubbing

Kam Mediwake (CCH) did a great job filling in for the libero position. Brodie Haugan (Foremost) and Joel Dyck (LCI) led the team with kills and Chris Gilbert (LCI) ran an effective offense which gave us great mismatches, leading to our success. The middles, Spencer Moon (Vulcan), Logan Unreiner (Medicine Hat), Ian Torrance (Medicine Hat), and Josh Zoeteman (LCI) came up with great blocks for some much needed points in the close matches. Eric Hinman (CCH) added great kills throughout the tournament.
